Phillip Vales is our in house patent agent who focuses primarily on intellectual property matters directly related to the filing and prosecution of patents before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). Mr. Vales graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a computer engineering concentration from the University of Maryland at College Park. His first contact with the intellectual property field was as a patent searcher which piqued his interest in this direction. Additionally, he has worked for a major defense contractor and was later employed for several years at the USPTO. As a result of working at the USPTO, he was led to research basic scientific and engineering principles that are part of an ongoing research project.
